Two students from ETSAB (Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Barcelona), David Benito Cortázar and Laia Guardiola Raventós, have won the award of the contest Concurso Internacional de Diseño ROCA. The bathroom of the future, announced by ROCA and organized by BCD, Barcelona Centro de Diseño.
The jury, formed by Rafael Moneo (president), Soledad Lorenzo, Santiago Miranda, Olivier Saguez, Ramón Sanfeliu and Beatriz Vidal, acting Isabel Roig as secretary, has valued the positive contribution of solutions and the sculpturical values of the

proposal, making the union between the atmosphere of the bathroom and the bedroom easier, but at the same time keeping both spaces independent. The jury has also valued its capacity of sugerence and the recreation of a not very conventional landscape,answering perfectly to the contest objectives and the actual concept of a new identity for the hotel´s bedrooms.
In this first edition of the contest, ROCA has chosen five countries (Spain, Italy, France, Portugal and Great Britain) to participate, with the intention of widening the

call to other european countries in future editions.
The award consists of an economic donation of 4.000 euros and the winning project will be invited to the event 100% Design in London (September 2005) to be shown in ROCA´s stand . An excellent opportunity for these young creatives to be known among designers, architects and international enterprises.
