Starting from the wish to open the Asociation to the city, the first steps of the project are focused on the urban layer. The new ampliation is understood as a high building, totally side by side with the near buildings, and with the minimum contact with the ground level. It makes possible to free a great part of the parcel, generating a new interior passage that comunicates Gran Capitan Ave. with Reyes Catolicos Street through the inner existing court.

The functional scheme is organized with a clear separation between internal activities and public use. All management and working spaces of the Asociation are placed in the existing building, while the public uses are organized in the new building. Each building has its own functioning system, which allows them to open during different times freely.

Separated from inner skin (neighbours walls) we generate a second one. Made in glass, it gets separated and folded to create the new CCCOACo spaces. In few strategic points, that skin becomes a double skin, and contains the vertical comunication elements: mechanic stairs, elevators, and evacuation stairs. In the resulting space between these two skins are the set af flexible and interconnected spaces that are the new cultural center of the COACo.
