Due to its lack of speed, turtles would be an easy target for the rest of animals. That characteristic made it to develop a high performance defensive mechanism: its shell. In dangerous situations, it becomes as strong as a rock hidden in its armour. When danger ends, turtle goes out of it, and continues its relation with the environment.

The building is designed following the same strategy. Its a building that can close itself being impenetrable when necessary, and at the same time, it can be opened to the exterior to enjoy its privileged natural site where it is placed. The elements that allow to reach those situations are the patios.

|
There are four patios, all them tangent to the facade line. During day, they act as big windows opened to exterior which give light and sights to all main rooms. When building is not in use, they can be closed, and relation with exterior remains limited to building walls and the patios closing system.
