Competition: Competition for a new design for a Christmas decoration for the shopping streets in central Barcelona. The competition was organized by BCD and BarnaCentre.
BarnaCentre is a commercial association for the shops of the historical center of Barcelona. They wanted a new concept for a Christmas installation. Traditional installations are based in lights that work at night. We tried to do an all-day-working Christmas installation. Our proposal was to create a mesh roof where reflective surfaces could be hung.
During the day, solar lights hit the multiple reflective triangles and light is reflexed to the ground. At night, a set of artifical spotlights, hit the reflectant triangles, having a very similar effect than at daytime.
